All community members are expected to:

- Be punctual and prepared for sessions
- Actively participate and engage with course material
- Ask questions and seek help when needed
- Share knowledge and help peers when appropriate
- Give and receive constructive feedback graciously

- Use respectful and professional language
- Listen actively and consider different perspectives
- Assume good intentions and clarify misunderstandings
- Provide feedback that is specific, actionable, and kind
- Respect others' time and communication boundaries

- Share credit for collaborative work
- Respect intellectual property and give proper attribution
- Be reliable and communicate proactively about commitments
- Celebrate others' successes and support them through challenges
- Contribute positively to group dynamics

- Protect the privacy of fellow community members

- Report safety concerns promptly to staff
- Follow all child safety and safeguarding protocols
- Respect physical and digital boundaries
π«Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
β Harassment & Discrimination
- Offensive comments related to race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or appearance
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Bullying, whether physical, verbal, or online
- Sustained disruption of learning activities
β Inappropriate Content
- Sharing violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content
- Displaying offensive imagery in projects without educational justification
- Using profane, vulgar, or hate speech
- Publishing others' private information without consent (doxxing)
β Dishonesty & Misconduct
- Plagiarism or presenting others' work as your own
- Cheating or helping others cheat on assessments
- Deliberately providing false information
- Hacking, unauthorized access, or malicious code distribution
- Sabotaging others' work or projects
β Safety Violations
- Any behavior that endangers physical or emotional safety
- Threats of violence or harm
- Encouraging self-harm or dangerous activities
- Violating child safeguarding policies (see our Safeguarding Policy)
π»Online & Digital Conduct
For online and hybrid programs, additional guidelines apply:
πΉ Video Conferences
- Use appropriate backgrounds (blurred or neutral)
- Dress appropriately as you would for in-person class
- Minimize distractions in your environment
- Mute microphone when not speaking to reduce background noise
- Turn on camera when possible to facilitate engagement (unless technical issues arise)
π¬ Chat & Messaging
- Keep discussions relevant to the topic at hand
- Use appropriate languageβavoid slang, abbreviations that may confuse, or offensive terms
- Respect response times; not everyone is available 24/7
- Do not spam or flood chat with messages
π Social Media & Public Forums
- Do not share screenshots or recordings without permission
- Respect privacyβdo not post about other students without consent
- When representing Unreal Nova Academy, maintain professionalism
- Report cyberbullying or online harassment immediately
π’Reporting Violations
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately.
How to Report
Speak directly with the instructor or use private chat
For immediate safety concerns, contact local authorities first, then notify us
What Happens When You Report
- Confidentiality: Reports are handled discreetly; identities are protected to the extent possible
- Investigation: We will review the situation fairly and thoroughly
- Action: Appropriate measures will be taken based on severity
- Follow-up: You will receive updates on actions taken (within privacy constraints)
- No Retaliation: Retaliation against those who report in good faith is strictly prohibited
βοΈConsequences for Violations
Consequences for violating this Code of Conduct are determined based on the nature and severity of the violation:
1οΈβ£ Minor Violations (First Offense)
- Verbal or written warning
- Discussion of expected behavior
- Apology to affected parties (if appropriate)
2οΈβ£ Moderate Violations or Repeated Issues
- Temporary suspension from programs
- Required meeting with staff/parents
- Behavioral contract outlining expectations
- Loss of certain privileges (e.g., chat access)
3οΈβ£ Serious Violations
- Immediate removal from program without refund
- Ban from future Unreal Nova Academy programs
- Reporting to appropriate authorities (if required by law)
- Legal action (in cases of threats, harassment, or illegal activity)
Examples: Threats of violence, severe harassment, child safety violations, illegal activities
Note: We reserve the right to take immediate action in cases where safety is at risk. Appeals may be submitted in writing within 14 days of disciplinary action.
πScope of This Code
This Code of Conduct applies to:
- All program participants: Students, instructors, staff, volunteers, and guests
- All program settings: Online classes, in-person sessions, events, and school partnerships
- All communication channels: Video calls, chat platforms, email, and social media when representing the academy
- Related activities: Hackathons, showcases, community events, and collaborative projects
This code extends to behavior outside of formal program activities if it:
- Involves other community members
- Affects the safety or well-being of participants
- Impacts the learning environment or community dynamics
